Delta Phi Epsilon is an International Business & Foreign Service Fraternity founded in 1919 at Georgetown University. The Gamma Chapter at Boston University was founded in 1922 through the Questrom School of Business (previously School of Business Administration). Delta Phi Epsilon helps students in their professional development as they grow into future world leaders and advocates of world justice, peace, and prosperity.

Our motto, λατρεύω (prounounced “la ● tre ● wo”) or “I serve” is our guiding principle as an organization. As members, we aim to dedicate ourselves to being inclusive, open-minded, and serving the international, national, and local community.

 Fraternity

Delta Phi Epsilon was founded in 1919 at the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Washington D.C. by four men and future brothers. On Sunday, January 25, 1920, 19 men were initiated into the Alpha Chapter of DPE, which focused on promoting the social and professional interests of students hoping to enter the foreign service.

Today, our chapters exist from New York City to Berkeley, California and continue to promote our organization's ideals. Delta Phi Epsilon boasts an impressive list of alumni, including ambassadors, professors, and even successful animator and businessman Walt Disney.

Sorority

Until 1972, the Alpha Chapter of Delta Phi Epsilon Foreign Service Fraternity would not admit women into its chapters. Hoping to take a stand against gender discrimination, female students at Georgetown University took matters into their own hands. In 1973, the Alpha Chapter of the Delta Phi Epsilon Foreign Service Sorority was established. Today, several sorority chapters exist across the country and boast alumni including former Secretary of State Madeline Albright.
